At Hope Cottage we understand that everyone needs a little bit of support every now and then. We offer crisis food relief all year around. Drop in 10am-12pm Tuesday at 25 Church Street Nelson Bay or get in touch.
Hope Cottage is a Church outreach to the Port Stephens community, offering free crisis food with a non-judgemental attitude and no strings attached.
The Vision of Hope Cottage is to provide a welcoming, supportive, inclusive and safe space for those in the Port Stephens community who are experiencing disadvantage and needing assistance.
Hope Cottage began with the “Just One Thing” initiative where every Church member was encouraged to bring just one item of food or toiletry to replenish the pantry for those in need.
This project has been run by All Saints and our local community since 1987. Our service has grown rapidly since the beginning of 2019 and now local businesses, people within the community, and organised groups regularly contribute and partner with us in caring for the wider community.
Hope Cottage is our vehicle to give out this crisis food in a welcoming and accepting way. It is available to anyone who is experiencing hardship, and to access without judgement, free groceries, personal care items and emergency packs.
Sharing Hope in the community – everyone is welcome.
Hope Cottage relies on food donations from Church and community members to be able to provide this ongoing support. If you would like to make a non perishable food donation you will find our donation bins in All Saints Nelson Bay, Woolworths Nelson Bay, IGA Anna Bay, IGA Wanda Beach and St Philip's Christian College Port Stephens. See more about financial donations.
Hope Cottage collaborates and works with the Tomaree interagency which comprises of a variety of local charity organisations including Yacaaba Centre, Gan Gan Centre, The Neighbourhood Centre, Hume Housing, Salvation Army, and Vinnies.
